When to eat when energy is missing
Meal timing matters as much as meal content. How to fit it to your actual days.

We spend a lot of time asking what to eat, and almost none asking when. Yet the 4pm crash is explained by the shape of the day far more than by what's on the plate.
The most common pattern
Coffee in the morning, a late and rushed lunch, nothing in the afternoon, then an evening of eating a lot and late. The body spends the day short and the evening in excess.
Markers, not strict timetables
- Eat within two hours of waking, even lightly.
- Don't let more than five hours pass between meals during the day.
- If the afternoon is long, plan a real snack rather than holding out then breaking.
- Try dinner a little earlier, and leave a gap before bed.
A regular rhythm beats a perfect one.
And if your days are irregular
Shift work, on-call nights, long commutes: the marker becomes the interval rather than the hour. We build a rhythm that fits your real week, not a theoretical one.
